Introduction

Coats of Arms:

The St. George Squadron Arms

The Shield:

  • Has Silver as the Metal, symbolising Wisdom.
  • Has Red as the Colour, symbolising Eagerness to serve ones country.
  • Has a Cross, symbolising Protector.
  • Has a Red Dragon as a Charge, representing the St. George Squadron.


The Crown:

  • Is a Naval Crown, symbolising a Distinguished naval unit.


The Crest:

  • Is a Red Flame, representing our Zeal for King and Country.


The Supporters:

  • Are the Union Jack and the White Ensign, representing Great Britain and the White Squadron of the Royal Navy.
  • Uses two crossed Cannons and a stack of Cannonballs as Compartment, symbolising Experience in the uses of such weapons.


The Motto:

  • FORTITUDO AB UNITAS, "Strenght in Unity"


The Wilmore Arms

The Shield:

  • Has the Lord Wilmore's personal Arms as an inescutcheon in the upper right and lower left corners of the complete Shield.
  • Has another inescutcheon in the upper left and lower right corners of the complete Shield, representing Lord Wilmore's fiefdoms.

Lord Wilmore's Personal Shield:

  • Has Silver as the Metal, symbolising Wisdom
  • Has Blue as the Colour, symbolising Strength
  • Has a Cross, symbolising Protection
  • Has a Phoenix as a Charge, symbolising the Resurrection
  • Has a Cross Patteé as a Charge, symbolising Christianity and the Crusades
  • Has the historical Percy Arms and Smithson Arms, who at different periods owned the Baronetcy of Stanwick, which Lord Wilmore owns.

The Inescutcheon:

  • Consists itself of two inescutcheons:
  • A Blue Lion Rampant on Yellow, representing the Barony of Percy, as Lord Wilmore is the Baron Percy.
  • Three White Fish on Red, representing the Earldom of Northumberland, as Lord Wilmore is the Earl of Northumberland.

  • Is an Earl's Helm. Barred and facing to the right.
  • Has an Earl's Coronet above the Shield.

The Crest:

  • Is a Lion, symbolising Valour.

  • Has two Bezants, symbolising Cornwall, wealth and one being worthy of trust.
  • Has two Anchors, representing the Royal Navy, Hope, Religious faith and Steadfastness.

  • Is a Viscount's Helm. Barred and facing to the right.
  • Has a Viscount's Coronet above the shield.

  • Ha an Armoured Hand holding a Sword to symbolise a Warrior with qualities of leadership.

  • Has Gold as the metal symbolising Virtue
  • Has Blue as the colour symbolising Fidelity
  • Has 14 golden balls on a blue background arranged in the order 4,4,3,2,1

The origin of this pattern lies in the custom to reinforce wooden shields with iron fittings.

By painting these nails in a different colour than the shield, this pattern was created and

transformed over time into a coat of arms.


The Helm:

  • Is a Baron's Helm. Closed and facing ahead.

The Crest:

  • is a Golden Oriole Bird who carries a golden ring in is beack,

the bird is encased by pairs of blue bull horns and golden wings.

The Shield: Victoria Page's Personal Shield:

  • Has White as the Metal, symbolising Peace.
  • Has Black as the Colour, symbolising Constancy and Vigilance.
  • Has a Cross, quarterly quartered, symbolising Protection; and a Gyronny in Eight as Ordinaries.
  • Has the Crown as a Charge, symbolising Loyalty.
  • Has a Fleur-de-lis as a Charge, symbolising Victory over the French.
  • Has a Line tied in a reef knot as a Charge, symbolising Unity. It is surrounded with the Colour Red symbolising Military Honor and willingness to suffer death for England.

  • Is a Baron's Helm. Barred and facing to the right.
  • Has a Baron's Coronet above the Shield.
